AI Agents for WhatsApp, Calls and Email: A Practical Setup Guide
A customer asks about availability on WhatsApp, another sends an Instagram DM, and a third calls while your team is busy. Adding an AI agent to each channel can help, but the useful starting point is not “automate everything.” It is deciding which questions agents should answer, which actions need approval, and when a person should take over.
Mavora AI Agents WorkForce connects AI agents to customers’ own messaging, phone and email accounts. This guide explains the available channels, how setup works, and what to check before allowing agents to speak for your business.
Which channels can your AI agents use?
Customers connect their own accounts in My Mavorium → Channels & ads. The supported options cover several common ways people contact a business:
- WhatsApp Business through the Meta Cloud API.
- Telegram bots for conversations on Telegram.
- Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs for social enquiries.
- Phone calls through Twilio: the agent can answer calls conversationally and call customers.
- Email from your own mailbox, including sending messages and answering new emails.
- A website chat widget and API.
These connections use your accounts rather than replacing your business identity with an unrelated inbox. Customers pay the channel providers directly. When planning costs, distinguish your agent purchase or subscription from applicable provider charges; do not assume that phone or messaging usage is included.
Start with one job on one channel
Choose a repetitive task with clear answers before expanding across every channel. For example, a retailer might start with WhatsApp questions about product specifications. A service business might begin with website enquiries about its service area and opening hours. These are suggested starting points, not promises about a ready-made configuration.
Write a short role brief: “Answer questions using our approved information, ask for the details our team needs, and refer exceptions to a person.” Then list what the agent must not do, such as invent stock availability, promise an unapproved discount, or confirm work without authorisation.
Mavora offers 120+ AI agent roles across 21 departments. Picking the closest role is useful, but a narrow, well-defined responsibility matters more than deploying many agents at once.
Prepare information before connecting accounts
Good answers need reliable business information. Assemble a current catalogue or service list, opening hours, delivery terms, return policies and approved contact details. Mark information that changes frequently so your setup discussion can address how it will stay current.
- Collect common questions and examples of acceptable answers.
- Specify the languages and tone customers expect.
- Define which customer details are necessary to collect.
- Identify requests that need human review, including complaints and unusual commitments.
- Agree how unresolved conversations should reach your team.
Keep account credentials out of ordinary briefing documents. Confirm the appropriate account-connection process and permissions during setup. For sensitive customer information, decide what the agent genuinely needs rather than supplying every available record.
Understand the purchase and setup sequence
There are three routes: Buy the ZIP for complete source code with a one-time purchase, choose a monthly or yearly Subscription hosted by Mavorium, or Get a quote for custom requirements. The hosted subscription includes a chat widget and API key. Hosted agents also get an AI Office, with private and group chats, meetings, file sharing and voice calls.
For purchases, payment comes first, followed by a short setup form. Agents are then built and reviewed by Mavorium’s engineers. The site states that nothing goes live until you have approved how it answers. The quote route lets you request a price without paying immediately.
Before checkout, clarify channel requirements, expected usage and who will maintain any self-hosted deployment. Read the purchase terms carefully: the live checkout states that payments are final and non-refundable. Every purchase comes with a purchase contract by email.
Test conversations, not just connections
A connected account is only the beginning. Test ordinary questions, unclear requests, missing information and attempts to obtain an unauthorised promise. Check that the agent admits uncertainty instead of making up an answer. Confirm the agreed human-review process works in practice.
For calls, test interruptions, names and numbers being repeated, and requests to speak to a person. Tell customers when they are interacting with AI. Before outbound calls or messages, check applicable consent requirements and provider rules; technical capability is not permission to contact everyone.
Expand only when the first workflow is dependable
Review answer accuracy, unresolved enquiries and the amount of correction your team performs. Add another channel when you can explain what is working and what still needs supervision. Do not assume that connecting multiple channels automatically creates a single conversation history; clarify any cross-channel context requirements during setup.
