02What we can act on

Maha Search is a search service. It indexes and displays material published by other people on the open internet, and does not host or author that material. Where a result is unlawful or infringes your rights, we can remove it from our results. Removing a result does not remove the page itself, which remains under the control of the website that published it.

03Timelines

Every complaint is acknowledged within 24 hours with a reference number, and resolved within 15 days of receipt. Complaints concerning material that sexually exploits a child, or non-consensual intimate imagery, are actioned on priority and without waiting for the full period.

04What we cannot provide

We are sometimes asked for records of what a person searched for. We do not hold that information. Maha Search does not store search queries against any individual, and does not retain IP addresses. This is a design decision, not a policy we can waive on request.

Not held, and therefore not disclosable

Requests made under lawful authority will be responded to in accordance with the law, on the basis of the records we actually hold, which are described in the Privacy Policy.

05Raise a complaint

We send your reference number and our response here.

Describe the issue and, where relevant, why the material is unlawful or infringes your rights.
