What Maha Search collects, and what it deliberately does not
This policy explains how Mavorium Private Limited handles information in connection with Maha Search. It is written to be read, not to be survived, and it describes what our systems actually do.
Maha Search is built so that there is very little to disclose. We do not store your search queries against you, and we do not keep your IP address. We count how many people use the service; we do not build a record of what any individual did.
To know how many people use Maha Search, we need to tell one visit from another. We do this without keeping anything that identifies you.
When you visit, your network address is first shortened so it no longer points to a single connection. It is then combined with a secret value and converted into a short code using a one-way mathematical function. Only that code is stored. The address itself is never written to disk.
The secret value is replaced every 24 hours and permanently destroyed within 48 hours. Once destroyed, the codes created with it cannot be reversed by anyone — including us, including anyone who obtained a copy of our database, and including in response to a legal demand. The codes themselves are deleted the following day, leaving only a total count.
A practical consequence: we cannot recognise you tomorrow. The same visitor produces a completely different code each day, so no long-term profile can be assembled even in principle.
An account is optional. You can use Maha Search without one. If you create an account, we hold:
The search count is a number only. It records that a search happened, never what it was.
Private mode keeps no history on your device and does not associate your search with your account. It also earns no MAI Points, because awarding points requires recording activity against your account, which would contradict the word "private". We would rather the feature be honest than generous.
Maha Search is a family-safe service. Searches for adult content are declined, and material involving the sexual exploitation of children is blocked absolutely, with no setting that disables it.
When a search is blocked, we increase a counter. We do not record the search term, and we do not record who made it. Filters occasionally get things wrong, and a mistaken block must never place an innocent person on any list.
Results come from third-party search providers. Your search term is sent to them so they can return results; your identity is not, because we do not have it to send. Those providers handle data under their own policies.
We may link to virtual private network services operated by other companies. Those are recommendations. We do not operate a VPN service, and we do not route your traffic through our systems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not allow advertisers to profile you.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, withdraw consent, and complain about how we have handled it. Write to grievance@mavorium.in.
Where a request concerns information we do not hold — most commonly, a request for search history — we will say so plainly rather than leaving it unanswered.
We send marketing email only if you separately chose to receive it. That choice is not part of accepting these terms and is never ticked for you. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Maha Search is not directed at children under 18, and accounts require an adult. The service is filtered to be safe for family use regardless.
